Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 June 2026
TrueShift (“we”, “us”) is operated by Girder Labs, a company registered in England & Wales. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights. We are the data controller. Questions or requests: nobleacreestates@gmail.com.
The calculator is anonymous
You can use the free calculator without an account. The figures you enter (earnings, distance, fuel, etc.) and your saved shifts are stored only in your browser (localStorage) on your device. We never receive them unless you create an account and enable cloud backup (Pro).
What we collect (with an account)
- Account: your email address and a securely hashed password.
- Shift data you choose to back up (dates, earnings, distance, hours, computed pay and tax figures). You enter this; we store it so you can access it across devices.
- Payment: if you subscribe to Pro, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your card number — we store only a Stripe customer/subscription reference and your plan status.
- Analytics (only if you accept the cookie banner): anonymous product usage events (e.g. pages viewed, feature used) via PostHog. No selling of data, no advertising. You can decline and the app works fully.
Why, and our legal basis (UK/EU GDPR)
- Provide the service and your account — performance of a contract.
- Take payment for Pro — performance of a contract.
- Product analytics — your consent (withdrawable any time).
- Security, fraud and abuse prevention — legitimate interests.
Who we share it with (processors)
- Supabase — database & authentication (hosted in the EU, London region).
- Stripe — payment processing.
- PostHog — analytics (EU region), only with consent.
- Vercel — application hosting.
We do not sell your personal data.
Where your data is stored
Your account and shift data are stored in the EU (London). Stripe and Vercel may process data outside the UK/EU under appropriate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses / adequacy).
Retention
We keep your account data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your account and shift data. We may retain limited payment records where required by law (e.g. tax/accounting).
Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your data, and withdraw analytics consent at any time. You can delete your account and all associated data from the dashboard (Account → Delete account), or email us. UK residents may complain to the ICO.
Children
TrueShift is not intended for anyone under 18.
Changes
We'll update this page and the date above if this policy changes. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
