These terms govern your use of TrueShift, operated by Girder Labs (England & Wales). By using the app you agree to them.

1. What TrueShift is

TrueShift is a calculator and record-keeping tool that estimates your real earnings and potential mileage tax deduction from figures you enter. It is an estimation and bookkeeping aid.

2. Not tax, accounting or financial advice

All figures — including mileage deductions, tax set-asides and “take-home” numbers — are estimates for your own information only. Tax rates, thresholds and rules change and vary by country and personal circumstances. TrueShift is not tax, accounting, legal or financial advice, and is not a substitute for a qualified professional. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you file. Always confirm figures with a tax professional or your tax authority (IRS, HMRC, CRA, ATO, Revenue, IRD, SARS, etc.).

3. Accounts

You're responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account. You must be 18+. You can delete your account at any time from the dashboard.

4. Pro subscription, billing & auto-renewal

Pro is a paid subscription. Pricing is shown at checkout in your local currency (e.g. $7.99/month or $39/year in the US; equivalent local pricing elsewhere).
7-day free trial: your card is collected up front and not charged during the trial. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, the subscription begins and your card is charged.
Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) at the then-current price, until you cancel.
Cancel anytime from the dashboard (Manage subscription), which opens the Stripe billing portal. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the end of the paid period.
Refunds: we don't generally refund partial periods, but this does not affect your statutory rights (including any right to cancel within 14 days under UK/EU consumer law where applicable).

5. Your data

How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy. Free calculator data stays on your device; Pro backs it up to your account.

6. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service, attempt to break its security, or use it unlawfully.

7. Liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for tax outcomes arising from your reliance on our estimates. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales.

9. Changes

We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version.
